Robotics and Animation (Autodesk Inventor)

The following videos have been created by rendering and animation tool available in Autodesk Inventor. Anyone who has actually worked with inventor can understand how complex and time consuming this would actually be to create such type of animations and rendering.

The Importance of Icons present in the Autodesk Inventor

Always focus on the Icons that are present everywhere in the software. For an example on the ribbon and on the dialogue boxes of tools etc. They are self-explanatory and give you information about how a tool will function. So watch every icon very carefully.   For an example watch the dialogue box of the Mate Constraint too. To activate this tool just go to the Assembly tab>Position panel and click Constrain tool to activate it. Now the  Place Constraint dialogue box will open. The mate constraint is active and default solution type selected is mate. Focus on the solution section and see what the icon shows. Watch the image below.      This Icon clearly states that mate constraint will work on entities that are in opposition to one another. So when mating two components in an assembly always remember this. And where the red arrows show the opposite direction after selecting the planes, then the mate solution will work. Many a time the users think which mate solution, he should apply. So when red arrow shows the opposite direction then select mate and when the red arrows are showing like the Flush solution icon then select the flush solution. This is very helpful while working with a large assembly which consists of many components. To better understand it see the video below:-

STL files for CAD Users (3D Printing)

Working with Autodesk Inventor (Faster)

If you want to run your Autodesk Inventor faster apply these settings. This tip is more useful for them who are running this software on an old desktop or laptop.

Assembly Constraints and Degrees of Freedom (Autodesk Inventor)

The purpose of constraining components together in an assembly is to imitate (copy)  the behaviour of components in the real world. By giving constraints we remove degree of freedom of a part in the an assembly. Although it is not necessary to remove all degrees of freedom. We need as many as to properly position the part. See below how degrees of freedom works in sketch and assembly environment:- First video Second video There is a new tool for degree of freedom Degree of Freedom Analysis to understand watch the following video. Hardware Splined Drill Bit (Video Tutorial) Autodesk Inventor 2012

I found the 2D drawing of this model from Mastering Autodesk Inventor book (Autodesk Inventor Practice Part Drawings) and converted it in a 3D model. Setting Application Options and Creating a Template File in Autodesk Inverntor

There are many setting which allow us to customize the work environment in Autodesk Inventor. In the following video I will show which Application Option setting we are using that is visible in our videos tutorials most of the time. People many a times ask us why your design window is different and what My Preference .ipt is. By applying the settings displayed in the video your design window will be the same as ours. The current background setting of our design windows is different and we keep changing it according to our mood….:)

2D Drawing View Of Representation File With Parts List

After creating an Assembly file in Autodesk Inventor 2012, 2D drawing file and Parts list can be created in very less time. To download the finished assembly file visit the following link:- http://www.mediafire.com/?xylncqolvzv6qf7
