Mounting Bracket || Solid Edge Sheet Metal Tutorial

This tutorial displays the modelling process of a model named ‘Mounting Bracket’ which is created by using Sheet Metal functionality of Solid Edge software. The tutorial will give an intermediate level user of the software a good practice of following software tools:– Tab Contour Flange Cutout Bend Flange Break corner Hole Pattern The highlight of the tutorial is that we will apply different tools to create similar looking four legs of the model. Viewers may find this way of modelling process a bit tedious but it is deliberately done so that software users may know and learn about the application of different software tools. To understand the video easily, focus over places where we have paused our mouse. This is done so as the viewers can easily read the tooltips generated by the software and understand what is being done and why.   Visit the following link to get the model file… http://bit.ly/2N28Zk8   …………………………………………… Visit the following link to watch more tutorial on Solid Edge by us https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKWX3xUP3pPq5ijHdni6jXNX445Il3MWJ ……………………………………………………………………………… Hope all of you will enjoyed the tutorial. Autodesk Inventor Sheet Metal Tutorial || Project Flat Pattern Command

This tutorial demonstrates the utilization the Project Flat Pattern Command available in the Sheet Metal modeling environment of Autodesk Inventor. The tool is used to project a selected face or faces of a sheet metal flat pattern onto the active sketch plane. …………………………………………………………………… Transcription of Video …………………………………………………………………….. Here we have a model named Mounting Bracket which is created using Autodesk Inventor’s Sheet Metal functionality. Its two legs have been created using Contour Flange and Face Tool. Now we want to create its third leg by using Face Tool and Fold Tool. Let us see how we will use Project Flat Pattern command in creating third leg. First of all we need unfolded length of previous leg this can be achieved by using Project Flat Pattern command available in 2D sketching environment. This is our unfolded projected sketch with the help of this we will create another sketch for the third leg. On the basis of this sketch we will create an extruded sheet metal face using Face Tool. Now we need to bend this newly created flat sheet using bend tool. Again we will utilize the sketch that we got using Project to Flat Pattern Tool to draw new bend lines. These are the bend lines of previously created leg on basis this we will create our new bend lines. So now we can easily create our required third leg by folding the visible sheet. Fully completed model will look like this. …………………………………………… Visit the following link to watch full detailed video related to modeling of the Mounting Bracket part https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICPhfxpV9Xg …………………………………………… To watch more tutorials related to Autodesk inventor’s sheet metal functionality visit the following link… https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKWX3xUP3pPrzu8lASNE9Ol3n7nxlJLG1 ……………………………………………………………………………… Hope all of you enjoyed the tutorial. Solid Edge Basic Tutorial || Sheet Metal

In this tutorial we will learn about the basics of Solid Edge Software’s ‘Sheet Metal’ functionality by creating a model named ‘Cover’. Ordered modelling approach has been adopted in creating this model. This tutorial covers following tools/topics of the software:– Creating a new sheet metal file on the basis of ISO Metric Template. Basic 2D sketching. Application of Drawing, Geometric relationship and various Dimension Tools. Modification in Style of Dimension. Defining and Editing Material and Gage Properties of the sheet metal file. Setting the default Thickness, Bend radius, Relief depth and Relief width. Contour Flange Tool. Changing the colour of part using Part Painter. Setting up of lightning in the software using View Overrides. Cut Tool. Contour Flange Tool. Mirror Copy Feature and Mirror Copy Part Tool. Flange Tool. Tab Tool. Bend Tool. Saving Current View. Unbend and Rebend Tool. Close 2-Bend Corner. Activating Flat Pattern Model environment. Displaying Bend Table for setting bend sequence in the part. Creating new drawing for the active part. Using View Wizard. Placing Bend Table. Editing parts and up to date drawing sheets using Drawing View Tracker command. Note:–……………….. We have given sufficient amount of pause, over the tool and their tips, so must focus on them to learn and understand what is going on and why…. …………………………………………… Visit the following link to get the model file… http://bit.ly/34hBccg   Visit the following link to watch more tutorial on Solid Edge by us https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKWX3xUP3pPq5ijHdni6jXNX445Il3MWJ ……………………………………………………………………………… Hope all of you will enjoyed the tutorial. Latch created through Sheet Metal (Solid Edge ST9 Tutorial)

Serial No. 36 Latch created through Sheet Metal (Solid Edge ST9 Tutorial) In this video creation of an assembly of latch is shown. First Base body parts file of Latch will be created using sheet metal features that will utilize Contour Flange, Tab, Cutout, Rectangular Pattern, Mirror, Break Corner, Flat Pattern tools. Afterwards a Sliding rod part is created with the help of ‘Create Part In-Place’ in context of an assembly to complete it. Click the following link to get the model file: – http://bit.ly/2Vs4Kk9

Sliding Latch of Door (Solid Edge ST9 Tutorial)

Serial No. 34 Sliding Latch of Door (Solid Edge ST9 Tutorial) In this Solid Edge ST9 Tutorial we will describe how to build the model of a ‘Sliding Latch of Door’. It is a part modelling and assembly modelling tutorial. This assembly consist three part files that are positioned according to design intent by using Assembly Constraints and give you an idea of Sliding Latch mechanism. It will cover the following topics. ………………………………………………………………………………………….. • Creating 2D Sketches on different Planes. • Use some sketch constraints as Connect, Parallel, Concentric, Collinear, Perpendicular, Symmetric, Horizontal/Vertical, Equal etc. that are applied on during sketch creation to prepare the fully defined sketches. • Use feature commands such as Extrude, Cut, Revolve, Lofted Protrusion, Lofted Cutout, Add Body, Chamfer etc. • Use the ‘Lofted Protrusion’ command creates a protrusion by connecting multiple cross section. • Use the ‘Lofted Protrusion’ command creates a cutout by connecting multiple cross section. • Use the ‘Add Body’ command to create multiple bodies in a single part file. • Use the Cut command to removes a defined portion of the part. • Use the ‘Revolved Cut’ and ‘Revolve’ command with the ‘Symmetric’ and ‘Revolved Cut-Keypoints’ option to specify, where the feature will be created from start at an end . • Use Extrude command with various operations such as symmetric, extrude-through all, finite extent. • Use assembly commands such as Flash Fit, Axial Align mate, Mate/Planar Align command etc. • How to insert component into the assembly using drag and drop from parts library by using ‘Insert Component’ command. • How to mate the parts by using ‘Flash Fit’ command in the assembly. • How to set the mate offset value between the two component in the Mate/Planar Align command. • How to rotate and moving part by using ‘Drag Component’ command. • How to check the minimum distance between two components by using ‘Measuring Minimum Distance’ command. • How to automatically adopt the measure the distance value in ‘Planar Align’ command by applying between faces on the two components, to change the setting in the ‘Planar Align’ command (Planar Align – Options) and select the ‘Use distance between faces as default offset’ option. • How to detect the collision between two components, to change the setting in the ‘Drag Component’ command (Analysis Options) and select the ‘Stop movement when collision occurs’ option.
